Jerry Maze, Ed. D. / Education Service Center Region 12
Dr. Jerry Maze is the Executive Director for Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 in Waco, which provides cost-saving services, professional development and support to 77 school districts and charter schools in 12 Central Texas counties.
Maze has served in education for more than 27 years in various districts and capacities including teacher, director, consultant, principal and superintendent. Prior to joining ESC Region 12 he served as superintendent in Hillsboro and Hubbard ISDs.
Maze received his Doctorate of Education from Lamar University and his Master of Education from Sam Houston State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Journalism from Texas A&M University and holds certifications in Secondary English and Journalism, Texas professional mid-management and Texas superintendent.
Maze is an active member in many education and civic organizations in the region and across the state. He serves on the board for the Greater Waco Education Alliance, United Way of McLennan County Board of Directors, McLennan County Pack of Hope Board and the Texas Association of School Administrators Advisory Committee. As a resident of Robinson, he serves on the city council and the Robinson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Maze's wife Pamela is an elementary teacher in Lorena ISD. They have three grown children and two grand-daughters.
Dr. Maze volunteers his experience and professional resources to Opportunity Education Foundation Professional Development Team by presenting to African teachers and administers on education pedagogy. He has facilitated teacher orientated workshops at professional development seminars attended by 200 teachers in Moshi and 305 in Mwanza Tanzania in June 2011; 200 Ugandan rural teaches and 250 Kampala teachers in Uganda June 2012; and 105 teachers in Swedru and 220 teaches in Suhum, Ghana West Africa in July 2013. Dr. Maze has impacted numerous lives in the East and West African teaching communities.
